Welcome to Perth Art Glass

Perth Art Glass is a family run business specialising in the production and supply of Art Glass.

For over 35 years, under the leadership of Ian Dixon, PAG has become a premier glass art studio producing, both traditional & contemporary art glass for both commercial & domestic buildings.

Ian is a successful Glass Artist in his own right and has been either commissioned or has had work bought by many Studio Glass collectors. Collections include The Art Gallery of Western Australia, Australian National Glass Collection, Art Bank, Australian Capital Equity, and many private collections both in Australia and overseas.

With one of the largest glass kilns in Australia, Perth Art Glass excels in the area of contemporary Custom Textured Glass (slumped/kiln-formed glass) and is also renowned for our skills in Leadlight/Stained glass both in commercial, domestic & ecclesiastical design. Ian is one of the few qualified leadlighters capable of full restoration of Stained Glass into stone masonry.

Our Story

Established in 1984 by Ian & Eva Dixon Colonial Stained Glass Pty Ltd (CSG) began as a stained glass/leadlight manufacturing studio. Within four years of operation the business grew to become one of Perth’s leading studios.

Frustrated by the lack of available materials in Perth, Colonial Stained Glass diversified to become a supplier of coloured glass sheet and equipment to the wider stained glass professional and hobby industry. This expanded the business significantly and CSG forged strong relationships with many overseas suppliers.

Ian’s creativity and technical skill expanded his interest in glass fusing and kiln-forming over the years. He became a pioneer in this field and along with the acquisition of a large glass kiln once again diversified the business into large scale contemporary art glass. Ian has mentored many of Western Australia’s most successful Glass Artists.

On the 1st of October 2005 Colonial Stained Glass changed its name to Perth Art Glass to reflect the growing diversity in this field. Perth Art Glass is now Western Australia’s largest manufacturer and supplier of Art Glass Products and is instrumental in bringing many new overseas products to the Western Australian market.

PAG has also added ecommerce to its list of innovations, and we now ship supplies both Australia wide and overseas.

Our Mission

PAG continues to champion the use of art glass, be it traditional or contemporary design, in the buildings of Western Australia and throughout the world. This age-old craft should be true to its traditions but also relevant to contemporary times. The timeless beauty and craftmanship of coloured glass should never cease to be. Who can ignore the play of light and sublime beauty of a functional piece of art glass and not be moved by it?

PAG actively engages in education and promoting best practices in the glass arts. Both Ian and our team members have actively mentored and encouraged new artists in the field. Ian works arm in arm with conservation architects to conserve and restore significant historical stained glass. Ian is both a consultant and facilitator in the manufacture of glass art designed by other artists not familiar with working in glass in both public and private installations.

PAG supports many community art groups and schools with advice and product to promote the appreciation of this age-old craft. Craft groups and schools are encouraged to join as wholesale customers to take advantage of quantity buying prices.
