Description
This mould is the second step of a slumping process which is done in a total of 3 steps. The final piece is a vessel of glass diam. 26 cm, depth 18 cm.
Special firing information:
Step I See instructions Mould 958.410
Step II: The shallow slumped piece will be placed into this deeper to allow the glass to stretch but not “fall”. The result of this step is a deep piece of glass with no base. This is a tricky process, very even heat distribution is necessary. The ideal slumping temperature may vary depending on the viscosity of the glass.
Step III: See instructions Mould 958.412.
Recommended firing charts and instructions for all steps are based on information received from Karl Harron, Ireland, www.theglasstudioireland.com
