The GTS 17 is designed exclusively for the personal studio and is perfectly large enough and small enough all at the same time.

​The firing chamber fits our 16″ x 16″ shelf that offers 1.8 cubic feet of firing surface. The 13.5″ depth means you’re good-to-go for tall draping and slumping projects. All this in a personal studio package that’s just a little over 2 feet wide.

​The GTS 17 is designed and built with the same feature-set and performance standards as our larger models and is well suited for all glass firing operations including fusing, slumping, draping, painting and kiln-casting up to 1800°F (982°C)

​The GTS 17 features the Icon controls and is standard equipped with exclusive Swing View Adjustable Viewing and Quiet Drive Solid State Relay.

Important:

The GTS 17 kiln is supplied with an electrical cable but no plug, as it’s designed for direct wiring. We recommend consulting a licensed electrician to either hardwire the unit or install a suitable plug based on your studio’s setup.

• Top Access: The GTS 17 is a top loading design and offers a 17″ x 17″chamber, 13.5″ deep. Our easy to handle 16″ x 16″ shelf translates into 1.8 square feet of glass firing bliss.
• Fibre and Fire Brick: The GTS 17 is constructed of both fibre and firebrick. Fibre is used in the lid to speed up the firing process to avoid devitrification and provide for a lighter weight lid. Firebrick is used in both the walls and floor and provides excellent heat-storage properties which helps smooth out temperature swings and is awesome for annealing. By its nature, firebrick cleans up the temperature fluctuations that “all-fibre” kilns experience. You want a portion of firebrick in your glass kiln.
• Quiet Drive Solid State: The GTS 17 is standard equipped with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay. Our Quiet Drive solid state system delivers tight temperature control, long life and desired heating element response. The Quiet Drive is arguably the best designed and best performing solid state system on the market.
• The Icon controller, built on the Spark platform. It delivers touchscreen design, outstanding performance, excellent user interaction, and seamless pairing with advanced relay systems. Enhancing an existing control platform, it features precise temperature sensing and improved Wi-Fi reception, bringing exceptional value to the market.
