Clarity Devitrification Solution.

Unexpected devitrification can ruin a beautiful art piece. Applying Clarity before firing can help to eliminate that issue before it happens. Using a simple foam brush, Clarity is easy to apply, and a little Clarity goes a long way. You can also mist Clarity on irregular surfaces that cannot be brushed. You must reach a minimum temperature of 1350F to completely bond the Clarity with the glass. Temperatures over 1500F may not be effective.

SilkeMat is a NON-CARCINOGENIC refractory fibre blanket that can be cut, moulded, rigidised and formed. It can also be used with and without rigidising. There is no “shot” (tiny bits of silica) in this product and most firings are clean, leaving only the texture of the fibre on the glass.
