Have you been thinking about starting glass art but don’t know where to begin? Try one of our glass art workshops with an experienced glass artists to find out all the tips and tricks you need to begin.

Most of our classes are designed for beginners and our instructors will guide students through cutting glass to creating a beautiful custom piece of art. In our classroom, you will have access to all the tools of the trade and detailed instructions on how to use each.

A glance at the history of glassmaking reveals that since the 1600’s Glassmakers have sought inspiration from the colours, texture, rhythms and patterns of textiles.Join us to create beautiful woven textile designs in glass.  This very effective technique, mastered by Ian Dixon, is taught over a two day course which will cover design, colour selection, cutting and layout. Your design will then be slumped so that you have two stunning, finished pieces to take home.  The only skills requirement is that you can confidently cut glass, Ian will guide you through the rest.The course will run over two Saturdays –Day one (9.30am – approx 12.30pm) will cover colour selection, lay up of glass and first firing.Day two (9.30am – approx 3.30pm) will cover strip cutting, lay up of pattern possibilities and second firing.Costs include materials, kiln firing and hire of tools.
