Perth Art Glass are the Australian Distributors for HXTAL. HXTAL is a conservation grade two part epoxy adhesive used by museums worldwide to bond both glass and ceramics permanently. It is water clear and will not yellow even after long periods of exposure to sunlight. Used by the British Museum to restore the Portland Vase in the 1980s, it is the premier adhesive for repair and restoration of glass and ceramic objects.
Developed specifically for the conservation and restoration industries, HXTAL NYL-1 is a two part, low viscosity epoxy with exceptional non-yellowing properties combined with high strength characteristics. HXTAL NYL-1 is a hard, water white epoxy that bonds to glass, ceramic, metals, wood, ivory, marble and many other substrates.
For best results, HXTAL NYL-1 should be accurately mixed by weight 3 parts of A (resin) to 1 part B (hardener).
HXTAL reaches 90% bond cure in 7 days at room temperature (roughly 75ºF, 24ºC).
Many contemporary glass artists use HXTAL to bond elements of their work together in what is now referred to as “room temperature fusing”.
This product is a 60 gm kit of HXTAL, that is 45 gms of Part A and 15 gms of part B. To be mixed 3:1.
