A class perfect for beginners. This one day course covers the basic principles of glass cutting, foiling and assembly so that you can make your own copper foil creation!
In this course, students will create one glass feather to take home with them. Students may select the art glass they wish to use from our range in the workshop.
After mastering the basics, students may wish to participate in one of our intermediate copperfoiling courses where we will create terrariums, lamps and jewellery boxes.
Costs include materials and hire of tools. Students can bring their own tools if preferred.

Workshop Readiness – What You’ll Need
To help our tutors provide the best possible experience for everyone, we kindly ask that participants attending our Leadlight, Copper Foil, and Mosaic Workshops have the following physical abilities:
- Age Requirements – Students must be 16 years old or over.
Ability to stand for extended periods – Much of the workshop involves hands-on work at a bench or worktable.
Good hand and grip strength – Cutting, shaping, and handling glass requires some pressure and control.
Steady hands – Precision is important when working with glass and applying fine detail.
Ability to follow instructions – For safety and best results, it’s essential to work step-by-step with your tutor’s guidance.
