Ian and Simon headed south for a restoration adventure in Katanning. They were called in to breathe new life into the historic Kobeelya House, a grand homestead. The job included the restoration of a grand staircase window, repairing a tired entry statement, and creating new panels for the upper veranda door.
To complete the restoration:
🔹The stained glass was carefully removed and brought back to the studio.
🔹Each window was dismantled, with mismatched and broken glass replaced.
🔹Damaged painted details were recreated.
🔹The entire set was re-leaded for another century of brilliance.
🔹New door panels were designed to seamlessly match the original, using both old and new glass.
And while the restoration was serious business, Ian and Simon couldn’t resist a quick detour to Katanning’s all-ages playground. Because even master craftsmen deserve a swing break. 😉
