In late 2012 we were asked if we could design two windows to compliment and existing window at one of our local parish churches. When we inspected the original window we knew straight away that it was a window designed and crafted by Gower’s and Brown from Carraboya Stained Glass Studios in 1987. Ian, the owner of PAG, new Ted and Albert well and often called on them at their studio in Greenmount for afternoon tea and chats about stained glass. He had also assisted them in installing a restored window at Saint Georges Cathedral when Albert became too Ill to climb the scaffold, it was a great privilege to work alongside them. Ted was a mentor to Ian so the opportunity to finish one of their projects at Saint Christopher’s was a great honour. We set about designing the two remaining windows to flow from the existing window they had designed. We were also able to obtain some of the original glass from their estate so the famous Hartley Woods English Antique Glass could be used in the new windows to complete the original. The windows are now installed and where commissioned to the memory of the donors late parents.
