We are leading specialists in leadlight and stained glass repairs. Our workshop is fully equipped with all of the quality raw materials and glass required to repair all elements of a stained glass panel. No matter if it has broken glass, crumbling cement or fractured and bowing lead, our expert staff are able to revive it!

Simply bring in your broken, leaking or rattling stained glass to our O’Connor store and we will repair, replace or rebuild all of the damaged components for you.

Working closely with consultants and specialist in the heritage industry we take pride in providing a future of all our restoration projects. Our work is guided by the ‘Burra Charter’ for the conservation of Stained Glass ensuring it is of the highest quality and standard.

Some of our past restoration projects in Western Australia include St. Patricks Catholic Basilica in Fremantle, St. Georges Anglican Cathedral and Bishops Palace in Perth, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leederville, St. Johns Anglican Church in Albany, and St. Mary’s Anglican Church in West Perth.

At Perth Art Glass our restoration process is detailed and well documented enabling both the existing work and the new repairs to be viewed as seemless.

Documentation

A written report is usually done after an inspection of the windows to determine their condition. This report includes photos of the window and details of the restoration required. We will also attempt to identify the history and original manufacturer of the window to include in the report. A copy of the report is given to the current owner enabling them to have documented reference of the restoration and conservation undertaken.

Conservation

Our goal is to conserve the original work as much as possible and keep repairs and replacement to a minimum.

Restoration

We will always address any structural short comings of the original work and modify to achieve maximum structural longevity. We work closely with a number of consultants including Heritage Architects Mr Michael Broderick and Mr Ian Hocking as well as The Heritage and Conservation Council, Colgan Industries and Building Restoration Specialists.
